Take any good foundational ai and train it on simple correlations. So for a particular judge which lawyer has got the maximum favourable judgements. Then look at which large litigant has got favourable judgements from which judge. Correlate this with time spent on arguments by capturing video of ongoing proceedings. This is all elementary ai. Add some deep mind protocols and you will have a fully working system in at most 100 days. Throw three startups at this. Each will just require a funding of 2-3 crores.
On the 100th day data will start speaking.
And “data don’t lie”. You will know which lawyer has a setting with which judge. You will also know which litigant gets favourable orders from which all judges. Do some data fusion and some face reading and image capture if the judge – and you will know who all are sold out. This is not Nobel prize winning stuff. Any two IITians getting together in a small startup can do it.
This will have many peace time uses. Litigants will know which lawyer is effective with which judge. They will also know the lawyers performance. Lawyers fees can be track record determined.
We will be able to convert all our courts into super markets. Every item will have a track record determined price tag. Everything will be on sale against cheque payments. Festival discounts can be offered.
But jokes aside
In no time the entire Indian legal system will get cleaned up. All that the govt has to do is to open the online servers of the courts to the ai startups. On retrospective basis, you will know who were the effective lawyers, who were the compromised judges and most important … which large litigants had gamed the system.
Of course the answers are known to most.
But this will just data validate it.
In dynasties, you will see clearly every subsequent generation becomes not just more corrupt but also far more adept at handling, managing and better investing the gains of corruption. They also have loyalty cards for regular customers who go from one generation to another.
If we do want to clean up the system, media circus and one offs like Justive Yashwant Varma will not help
