Today any good Vc spends more time on structuring a deal to be “judiciary safe” than on the business. Indian judiciary is a lethal combination of incompetence, dynastic rule, corruption and personal bias. The last is the least understood and most important. Most judges keep their ill gotten wealth overseas through highly compromised foreign banks. They will thus never pass an order against those banks. They have a pro MNC and anti national bias. And we see this all around.
Our conclusion has been that the rot is so deep and so ingrained that nothing can be done about it. We all gave up years ago and evolved systems and processes that can work in a geography with no legal redress or legal system. This approach has stood us in very good form. And helped us invest very prudently in other lawless societies around the world. USA is likely to join the pool of their Supreme Court can’t reign in the bull in the China shop running that country.
Most of us turned the adversity into an advantage.
