Chapter 5G: the final blueprint for the division of India was drawn in London in December 1946

Partition saga

Chapter 5G: the final blueprint for the division of India was drawn in London in December 1946. Aga Khan wanted all of Punjab and Sindh and nothing else. Nehru wanted Srinagar. It was a minor issue and all was settled amicably. So they could get on with entertainment.

Aga Khan had acquired a French wife who was aristocracy but was down to running a store. Her friend Yolla Letellier – also French was dating one Lord Mountbatten. She accompanied Nehru to meet the Mountbattens. Mountbatten was apparently corrupt to the core and his wife would do anything for a Cartier set. He was perfect for HH. Later it would emerge that he was more than perfect:

To quote:

“Newly uncovered FBI files and historical research suggest Lord Mountbatten was bisexual and involved in an open marriage, with allegations of relationships with young boys. Declassified FBI files from 1944 onwards allege that Lord Mountbatten was bisexual or homosexual and involved in “extremely low morals”.
Some claims, detailed in the book The Mountbattens: Their Lives and Loves and by other researchers, suggest Mountbatten had a “perversion for young boys” and frequented a “gay brothel used by senior naval officers” in Malta.

Flush with money and diamonds – Mountbatten was looking for a job with perks. And Aga Khan was looking for a man without morals. Edwina would run the partition with Nehru as her friend and guide.

It was a win win.
The interim government headed by Nehru reported to the Crown via Mountbatten that the people of India wanted a partition. The communications convenietly ignored to mention that Punjab had an almost equal population of Hindus and Muslims. They figured out a plan which would give the prosperous part of Punjab to Aga Khan and leave the rest to India.

In order to draw the line between Pakistan and India, a sufficiently eminent and completely ignorant expert was found. His name was Cyril Radcliffe. He had never been to India or even seen a map of India. That made him perfect for the job. All he had to do was to draw a line just that Lahore was in Pakistan and Srinagar in India. It didn’t have to be a straight line. Finally an apprentice in his office who was studying fine arts drew the line so as to get a balanced looking India.

It was a line that ruined lives, caused hundreds of thousands of deaths, created bitter enemies out of friends, set back progress by years, led to two bloody wars, created an American colony at our border.

But back to 1947.
Nehru and Aga Khan made a deal.
Mountbatten became Viceroy.
Nehru played golf among other things.
India was divided.

BN and the RSS were furious. Gandhi was no help. There was complete confusion.

No one wanted the Partition.
Not the people of India.
Not the people of Pakistan.

BN was a defeated man. The grounds around India Gate became the largest tent city in the history of mankind. Way larger than the tent city at Kumbh. He sponsored the city.

In 1948 he was still the highest tax payer of India.
