Must see and learn how just 10,000 White people ruled more than 250 million Indians. They did so by hiring Indians. Just as foreign companies do today.

And even after they left, our minds are influenced by the education system designed by the British, whose primary goal was to convert all Indians from entrepreneurs to employees.

Today students from the best colleges stand in queue, begging bowl in hand, looking for that bribe getting govt job or that high packet multinational job.

It’s high time that our curriculum/syllabus in schools and colleges is changed and our students are made to learn Bhartiya Gyaan Parampara, also called Indian Knowledge System and Heritage.

The livelihood challenge is not just to provide jobs but to provide ai resilient careers. Being a CA or a lawyer is profession which is dead on arrival.

As yet, robots don’t compete with humans – so jobs involving manual work are more ai resilient than anything involving language including computer language like coding.

I visited a very successful venture studio recently. In their startups, they look for graduates willing to join for manual work. The two year graduate trainee program includes two months of night guard duty, two months of kitchen duty, two months of gardener duty, two months of sweeper duty and so on. In their spare time, the trainees are expected to study using ai to upgrade themselves. They can choose from over a hundred certification exams – and need to pass one bimonthly.

Their logic is that flexibility and pride of work are going to be critical success factors. They are hiring graduates as labourers to set the expectations right. This is not a job to sit on a desk in an airconditioned room.

Being a labourer is your day job. That is what pays your daily wage. After office hours, the trainee has the option to study, reskill or upgrade. Online education is paid for. Any course they want.

But what blew me away.
100% of the staff wants to do a PhD.
Most have already enrolled.
For a sponsored PhD.
The daily labour continues.

This duality is the key to ai resilience.
