Cockroach party violent protest led to lathi charging. It is the kind of thing that will give credibility to an online joke which by its very origin lacks identity, entity or legitimacy.
Yesterday I reached Jantar Mantar in the middle of the night having arrived from Mumbai by the last flight which landed at 230 am. I was also there when the so called Cockroach Party had their first protest:
What I saw this time was a very different entity from what I saw this time. Last time I saw some passengers and one hijacker. Now there were no passengers, just hijackers.
By 6 am, even more hijackers were there. My old colleague and Sonum Wangchuks wife Gitanjali made an entry to applauses. The hunger strike was showing results. I actually think well of Sonum as an engineer but could never understand why he visits Pakistan to publicise sustainable technologies. Gitanjali is a very sincere and hard working small town girl. I was surprised when she told me a few years ago that she believed Sonum was a reincarnation of Shiva. It was surely a new one I had heard. Aamir Khan rushed to say Sonam did not influence 3 idiots:
I am no great fan of the CJI but I don’t really think he was very wrong on what he referred to as Cockroaches. Only this time I didn’t really see any unemployed frustrated youth at all. What I saw were rally hires and professional stone pelters:
I used to live on jantar mantar road for many years. Every day regardless of the subject or organiser – I would see the same faces very day. This was just like those days. And not unexpectedly AAP was there is full force.
Atishi, Manish … looking for a deal. Could they merge into Cockroach to create a new force without the baggage of a failed AAP.
I think the Cockroach Party has nothing to offer and has unjust demands which no sensible govt will bow to. The HRD minister has done no wrong. There are no allegations of corruption, money laundering or even work shirking. He is in fact a great minister and a successful politician working diligently.
What Cockroach Party can do is to submit a manifesto for change. Maybe suggest the NTS become independent and autonomous. Or get empowered like a commission or authority. Like Election Commission or DDA. And maybe use technology and have online exams as is done by NiSM or GRE or SAT.
Recommendations would be welcomed by all. But here there are none. To me it looks like a foreign funded and supported entity which should be banned.
I am sure the hawk eyed government under Narendra Modi is watching carefully. The foreign media went out of the way to cover the event with non existent details. After reading coverage by Guardian, UK – I have lost whatever respect I had for the publication.
