Thief of thieves

Who is the biggest of them all

Indian judiciary takes the cream

There was a hiest at the Louvre. The co whose crane was used gave an ad publicising the fact that their crane was used. It got the crane maker a lot of visibility. Here is the video and ad:

Closer home, the highest paymasters in India are the ones with the best track record of accessing public funds – which are not returnable. Debt or equity doesn’t matter. Debt is free money. Other than half of Ambani and all of Adani – every business house from Videocon to Jindals have received loans where even principal was not repaid.

Now we come to ethics. Is it ethical to be working as a professional for a company whose primary focus is not to cater to customers but to access funds from banks and investors.

And more important

What in the current context is thievery.

The European museums are built with exhibits which have been plundered from around the world. Should they be returning them. Should Reliance Industries be made accountable for the defaults of Anil Ambani group. Can u just absolve yourself of all guilt by just doing a family division to separate the good bank from the bad bank.

Similarly should Indians be working for multinationals whose primary objective is the decimation of indian players. How is that different from Mughal invaders hiring Indian soldiers or the British hiring Indian policemen and army men. Should society in India not just shun foreign goods but also shun foreign company jobs.

But what we find are things to the contrary. Premium graduates are very happy working for foreign companies or public fund thieves. All that matters is the package.

Similarly should we reward or punish those who pulled off the Hiest at the Louvre. Cyber and crypto will have similar issues. If someone were to steal the bitcoin wallet of a drug peddler – is that thievery.

And whilst we look at the various issues raised on the above – come to the thief of all thieves. The Indian judiciary. They are happy if any dispute comes their way. It is an auction between parties for favourable orders. There is zero fear of consequences and an increasing number of law enforcement individuals are monetising disputes for personal gain.

Now should we incentivate thieves with immunity if they were to trace assets of corrupt judicial officers or better still steal them. What remedy does a judge have if someone were to steal his ill gotten wealth.

If a policy can be made around giving immunity to thieves who can trace and steal ill gotten wealth – it would do two things. One it would curtail corruption. Second it would provide livelihood for cyber hackers etc.

Should we make it legal to steal from thieves ?? It may sound counter intuitive but seems practical.

We could even go a step further. We could make it tax free for the thieves to encourage the development of these professionals.

It may clean up our judiciary quickly.
