Regulatory capture without basis
It took guts to call it out.
On the 15th of August, 2020 something radical happened. A group of really bright engineers working in the biologics manufacturing industry sent the IIT Alumni Council a highly confidential and shocking note.
In summary the note said that the proposed Covid vaccine that was being pursued by various countries was a disaster. In fact it would kill people who took it who would not otherwise die from Covid. The report went on to analyse the other vaccines including mRNA type vaccines which we were chasing, the katonic drops made as per Dr Shantaram Kane’s super extracts from botanical sources and the weakened virus based vaccine made by a small Indian company.
It was a wake up call. It is one of those moments in the history of an institution when hard decisions have to be taken. This was the day the Council was to launch formal operations. The first year was a pre operative one. It started with Howdy Modi in Houston and had ended in overseeing Covid operations in Mumbai. Inbetween a Covid bus had been launched to field test non polluting electric buses. Climate change felt like a distant problem compared to Covid.
Money had been committed to making India’s first mRNA vaccine. A mfg plant had been designed. It was to be speed executed to be up and running in 60 days. Production forecast had been set at Rs 10,000 crores. It would have been the first mRNA vaccine from the global South.
But that was all parked. Safety first. We didn’t want to support a vaccine which kills people. So the Council made a very very hard decision. They decided to EXIT.
Every newspaper screamed this on it’s cover page. It caused chaos.
But things did not stop at vacating the Covid vaccine race. We dived deep into the sector. Pharma companies do not want to do preventive medicine. It is better for people to fall sick. With one exception …. Vaccines. Here they got governments to let them do a regulatory capture. Vaccinate everyone. Population scale business case. Wicked and evil !!!
In May 2021 we announced safe ayurvedic vaccines.
An open source health platform was launched. The botanical super extracts made as per Dr Shantaram Kane ‘s methodology did wonders. They cost maybe Rs 5 per dose. They were oral and nasal. No injection. No vaccine centre. Tens of Thousands took it. No one got Covid. The formulation is now open sourced in a global best sellor book. It is time that compulsory vaccination is dispensed with.
It is indeed sad that we were right on the Covid vaccine. And that we were the first and only institution in the world to call it out before the vaccines were bought or dispensed.
