The idea of expanding the ESG framework to ESGG by adding goodness as a fourth parameter is a brilliant idea. If corporates add goodness as an area to pursue excellence in, then episodes like TCS Nasik will not happen, with or without POSH.
The bigger issue is of defining goodness in a way that is practical for measurement. What cannot be measured is unlikely to be nurtured. And what cannot be nurtured will eventually cease to exist.
Just like we look at the environmental impact of any decision, we need to incentivate corporates to look at the goodness impact of any decision. Is it good to bribe ? Is it good to exploit your employees ? Is it good to provide a crèche for employee kids ?
Is it a good thing to do ??
Should this be core decision support.
But it also leads to new questions. Good from whose perspective. Through what lens.
