Green and AI are disrupting all business

Uncategorized

Ai by itself is not that powerful
It is green that makes it lethal
Ai + green + social is the new disruption

The IIT Alumni Incubator has doubled down on innovation and AI to drive green transformation by leveraging Indian R&D ecosystem in chemicals to gain a competitive edge in the contract R&D market.

Jugaad Innovation has always been part of India’s DNA. Now Ai gives it wings. It is crucial to leverage our innovative strength to develop competitive solutions that differentiate us as a country and give us a competitive edge globally.

Our ambition extends beyond making India green. We aim to inspire companies and countries to choose Indian R&D as their trusted partner for their future success.

Contract R&D sits at the core of this national strategy. It will make up for the fall in IT services exports because of GCCs, ai and visa issues. The Rs 1 lac crore R & D fund of the govt led by Abhay Karandikar is one such effort in the right direction.

R&D led innovations not only help customers grow but also drive profitable growth and sustainability. Through continuous improvements in the energy and resource efficiency of our plants, we can not only secure cost leadership in many value chains but also make our products more sustainable. We need to be cheaper, greener, indigenous and distributed.

In 2024, India invested around Rs 20,000 in green R&D, with 80 percent of activities tied directly to renewables.

India now employs roughly 10,000 R&D techies in contact research. They generated more than 4600 new patents in 2024, nearly half focusing on sustainability and 25 percent on AI.

Ai is transforming India’s contract research. “Digital solutions and artificial intelligence are indispensable in today’s R&D work. BharatGen ai platform will allows researchers to access over 4 billion documents in one place, with AI speeding the search for relevant insights. The forum.iitcouncil.org/rix is already doing 100 million documents free of cost.

We also pushing the boundaries of AI in green chemistry. The coal2gas initiatives first AI reactor plans, executes, and analyzes chemical experiments autonomously, maximizing yields. Ai is cheaper and faster.

In Agritech, AI is streamlining the development of plant nutrition and protection products. A new AI-supported tool predicts groundwater leaching risks for early-stage compounds, reducing time and regulatory hurdles. “Artificial intelligence helps us to focus our plant inputs on the safest compounds with the highest chance of success,” These include plant health specific time release compound fertilisers adsorbed on a carbon enriching carrier. This solves the issue of declining carbon content and at the same time provides a end point for almost infinite carbon sequestration.

With its heavy R&D investments, cutting-edge AI applications, and clear sustainability focus, India is positioning itself as a leader in green transformation, turning ambitious strategy into contract research exports.
