CSR per person vs State Wealth, FY2024-25

AI

Wealth creation at population scale
Unlearning as the start point.

A cat does not have to go to college to learn how to catch a mouse. If it did, it may not succeed and end up dying of hunger.

A swarm of birds does not have collisions.

A centipede walks effortlessly coordinating the movement of a hundred legs. It doesn’t need ai or a PhD in locomotion technology.

Butterflies and pests don’t attack genetically modified food plants. Yet humans with a PhD support them. Leading to population scale metabolic disruption.

We need laws and regulators to enforce corporate social responsibility. When each individual should demonstrate personal social responsibility.

We have subjects like war strategy and massive industries like defence ammunition devoted to destruction and harm to mankind. Yet “goodness” is not even a permitted subject in any curriculum. Humanities departments around the world study violence and an emerging mental health pandemic is the largest threat to peace and harmony.

Everything has a flip side. At the World Wisdon Connect 2026, Prof NK Goyal released the book, “Ai for Bad”. It is the first book on the subject. Few people went beyond the first few chapters. Not because it is boring or false. But because it is obviously true. The nuclear bomb preceded nuclear power. And to date the primary use case of nuclear energy installations is not to produce power but to produce weapon grade uranium as a by product.

Thorium as an energy source never did take off – not because the spent fuel has a much shorter half life – but because it is not weapons grade.

As I watch my own life journey – from the Bhopal tragedy of the 1980’s to the Ai tragedy is the 2020s – I often wonder.

Do we need a university to learn.

Or to unlearn. There are thousands of places which teach you how to learn. There isn’t one which teaches you to unlearn.

Ai for Bad
Unlearn for good.

As I march into my sixties – I am trying to comprehend, how the world around me has changed in these sixty years. And what the next sixty years will be like.

We need to start by unlearning. And this is not easy. We won’t build a better building by adding a new floor on an unstable building.

We won’t become a superpower by copying China. The GDP data is based on a faulty accounting policy. One that values prosperity over peace, success over happiness.

The MegaSpheres paradigm talks of the three pillars of the current paradigm – survival of the fittest, quest for control and monetisation of power. The first book in the Vishwaguru series of the IIT Alumni Council introduced the MegaSpheres. A 100,000 print copies were no match to the 10 million digital downloads. The books went to book racks. The digital ones disrupted mindset’s.

Please fasten your seat belts for the second book in the Vishwaguru series. In the bookshop’s on 26.1.27. To get a gist of my thinking, visit blog.satishmehta.in. It may force you to think.
